Elena Georgieva is a graduate student at Stanford University where she studies music, science, and technology. Elena has been singing colligate a cappella for six years, and currently performs with Stanford's all-female a cappella group Counterpoint. She serves as the group's tracking engineer, primary arranger and vocal percussionist, and has worked with several groups on campus on various audio projects including studio tracks, live recordings, and as a live sound engineer. Before coming to Stanford, Elena sang with UCLA YOUTHphonics--a community service group focused on bringing a cappella music to schools in need.

Elena also conducts research in the fields of music cognition and music information retrieval, and enjoys performing computer music with the Stanford Laptop Orchestra.
